I realize that I don't need this service if I am not using VPN, but I'm bothered as to why----all of a sudden----, I am good to go one day and the next can't run Vista Ultimate 64bit without getting BSOD at every boot (after approx. 5-10 seconds into loading Windows). I finally narrowed the problem down to the Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service. If I turn off the service I am fine and Vista works well. When I turn the service back on I Blue-Screen every time. The ONLY changes that I made to my system were to download and install two Microsft updates. KB953155 and KB957200. I wouldn't bother with this, but I don't believe that I can be the only one with this problem. "Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service"--------I knew it would happen sooner or later-----------Microsoft is digging a Tunnel from Redmond to my PC in Pennsylvania to "Socket" to me.
