Disabling EVERY Unneccisary Service
« on: January 03, 2009, 08:41:34 PM »
I need to limit the programs running on my computer as much as possible. HOWEVER, I need to make sure it doesn't disable my internet (I have a Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini-Card) and my speakers (my SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC)

I currently have 56 processes running with 50% CPU Usage. I'm trying to reduce as much lag for my games as possible. Does anyone know the exact programs that I must keep enabled.

**I have a 32-bit Vista Laptop

That didn't work out so well, because now I have 52 processes.

You reduced your processes by 4.
Glad I could help and that it is appreciated.

Well I did 'msconfig' hide all microsoft services, disable all, disabled all startup except a like 3, restarted, now I start with 36 processes. Now I'm much happier =)
