I'm with you BV.  I regularly go without my side panel due to heat issues and NEVER pretty up the wires.  I am looking at the screen, not the inside of the case.   I went ahead and bought another PSU, but the one from the Dell wouldn't work so I'm sans computer at home.  No big surprise that the 305W Dell powerhouse didn't work on my puter :)

I guess some ppl are into the beautiful case with all the wiring routed correctly, but for me, what a waste of time.  LOL.  I'll get a picture of my rig sometime, but it's not a beautiful thing.  It's old and ugly, but it does the job....kinda like me  ;D ;D

I could see kittys causing havoc on a computer.   You must admit that the picture of a cat with his hair standing straight up while guiltily running away from your computer is funny indeed.  But Quake 3 making a computer catch fire?  Not even Doom3 got my box hot.    My idiot brother in-law didn't unplug his computer when swapping out vid cards, dropped a screw that bounced around on his mobo, actually causing it to boot, then when the screw quit bouncing around, it landed in a bad spot, arced and killed the mobo, all in about 2 seconds.  What luck. So much for that computer science degree he is always braggin about.  Now he is an art major.

I was in the running for the winner of ugly case  then I saw it, the shiny black case with lights and the window on the side.
cool I thought, I can see inside my pc.
I got it and I can see inside the case now.
yep that was a fail.

Well, my latest project brings out the true geek/nerd in me.
Best (yet horribly, horribly wrong) McCoy imitation:
"My god man!  Drilling holes in the case isn't the answer!"
Ah, the classic Star Trek quote...
The hole is for fresh air to the processor via pvc pipe, maybe with a aux fan, if I can work that.

Right now, I do indeed have duct tape in/on my case...closing off some openings in the back of the case (perforations and open expansion slots from previous builds using this 6yo case) to make the air flow a bit better through the case.
Soon will be making a custom dual 60mm fan holder for the two unused drive bays...

I kind of thought pictures of block and tackle and knots.  Yar...I did be wrong.
