Frequently Asked Questions and Questions U Are Likely To Ask:
FAQMy list for
www.blackviper.com answers many questions that I have received over the years from my web site readers/visitors:
http://www.blackviper.com/AskBV/askBV.htmForums:What is Premium Membership?Premium Membership and benefits are outlined here:
http://bbs.blackviper.com/index.php/topic,1332.0.htmlI checked "hide email address from public" but I can still see it?Yes, you can see your own email address but others, excluding me, cannot. To check this behavior, just log out of your account and check out the forums. You should not be able to view your address. Also, "guests", including search engines, cannot view your profile.
I searched and came up with nothing...Ensure that you make your search as expansive as possible by searching from the "home" page. Reduction of the search results can be done by going within a board. Meaning, if you search while inside a specific board, it will only search that area.
I cannot edit my posts/topics?The ability to edit/modify posts is disabled for new members. The ability to edit/modify posts for Jr. Members (currently, 50 posts) and above as well as Premium Members is still available and will not be changing.
How do I post images to the forums? You may use the "attachment" function to post images when your post count is above zero. In other words, your first post cannot contain attachments. Thumbnails will be automatically created.
QUALTAHow much memory for my computer do I need? What is the maximum for my particular OS?http://www.blackviper.com/AskBV/gen3.htmDo I need XP (SP1, 2, 3) or Vista (SP1, SP2)?I always recommend to update to the latest (non-beta) service pack as they usually have fixes not sent out via auto updates. This also ensures one big install file will take care of all security updates from the beginning (such as a clean install). If installing clean, I recommend downloading the full latest service pack (Example: XP SP3=316.4MB) and not connecting your system to the internet until after installation. This reduces the chance of system compromise before being able to even install the updates to fix it.
Why do you not reply to every post?I would love more then anything to do just that, but "real life" tends to get in the way and I try real hard to reply to as much as I can. Even though it would seem that I am ignoring you, your comments and questions are important to me and I try hard to get back to you as soon as I can. This may mean a lag time of over 24 hours (I do not sit and refresh the forums every minute of the day) but I respond as much as humanly possible.
FAQ-IYAB (If You Are Banned)Why am I banned? You violated my forum rules, abused my network (bots), authored reported posts too many times (Report to Moderator), or just plain were disruptive/rude in the normal course of discussions.
I hold all rights as to whom I allow access to my internal network. I therefore reserve the right to ban anybody for any reason at any time without warning or explanation and regardless of donation/forum membership status. If you feel this is in
error, you may contact me
