No dependencies shown
« on: February 15, 2008, 12:41:28 PM »
 >:( Since I updated my wifes XP Home SP2, the dependencies page in services always shows no dependencies.  I am logged on as an administrator, and can make changes to services, but why are the dependencies invisible?
Thanks, Al

Thanks, tried first two links, no help.
Don't want to try the last, as everything on that machine works ok, and I can use regedt32 to find out what the dependencies really are.  It just bugs me that services just can't display right - sort of like services doesn't have permission to view those dependencies in the registry.

It would be nice to find out what caused the problem.

If I get the time, I'll use regmon on Monday to see if anything shows there..  Other info:  The true administor account is corrupted on this machine.

The true administor account is corrupted on this machine.

How exactly did you determine this?

A Friend brought over EBCD.  It showed that Administrator hashes were corrupted.  In addition the account was locked out - probably due to my wife and I trying to remember the password many times.
