I have been learning to read the services list and most of the processes have some explanation when you google them.  But the two in the subject line do not even show up when I google.  They are not "started" and  have startup type "Manual".

Any idea if these are legitimate in some way?  Or should I just delete them and see what happens?
Could they be planted?  Is there a general rule for handling undefined processes that cannot be found when searched for?

Thanks

Under usual circumstances, services and processes that are named "random" in nature (uddknnkz fits that bill and probably why it is not picked up on Google) are viri or not desired.
Others that look silly, like HPSLPSVC, are actually part of HP printer drivers. However, HP puts descriptions and the like in said services.
Viri... do not.
Disable them. If, after a reboot, they are placed back into manual... it is not a good sign. :)

They appear to be currently disabled - no "started" in Status column.  So I need to worry if they appear to have started?  Or can I just simply delete them and forestall future issues, unless they or services like them reappear?

Thx.  caffreyc

If they are in "manual", they are not "disabled"... not all services run constantly in a manual state. If you change that "manual" into "disabled", it will not start (unless some external source modifies it back).
Changing Automatic/Manual/Disabled function:

The fact that the services are randomly named would indicate malware. They probably do not function because they have been partially removed by an AV program, and are usually rendered harmless by Disabling them. However, if the file that loaded them in the first place is still present, it is possible to reactivate them. You can determine this by examining the registry entries to see if you can find the file name and location so that they can be removed. I have made up a Web page that may help:
