Black, White, C-64 or Green colors for the Main Website?

Even though this poll indicates that the black background with white text on the main web site (www.blackviper.com) is preferred by 64.5% of the voters, after 11 years, I decided to mix it up a bit and have "White" be the default color upon entering for the first time. You can still switch, however, back to black if you so desire in the upper left hand corner of every web page under "Choose the Look:" if Javascript is enabled for the domain.

I added the option of a "C-64" scheme that I pulled out of thin air. It has a large font base and seems to be pretty easy on the eyes as well as consistent throughout the site (if I changed everything correctly). One more that I added is a "green" color. Check it out and give me your thoughts!

No, the C-64 (I will remove it at the end of the month) and Green is not an option as far as the default... but you can still vote for them.

I myself like the black color as I have in the past years ran across your site Viper. My first encounter with your site was 3 years ago when I was looking to tweak my system to run games on. The data base of information is astounding to say the least but always spot on. So my vote is Black.

Although black is very good, it's almost a tie with C-64.  I choose C-64 for an lcd monitor only and would of pick black for people with older crt's.

After messing around on the WWW, i found the C64 really crappy to use. I did originally vote for it and I would like to retract that vote. The green is really nice actually and imo better than the black or white. I know the default theme is being used for the forums but I think it would be nice to have the WWW match the color scheme of the forums. It would give the whole site a nice uniform theme.

I agree with ya. Take note, though, the C-64 theme was pretty much just a joke anyway.

I have always enjoyed the black over the white, but I think that the green is easier on the eyes.

One minor change and a major change to the C-64 layout: Slight color improvements and all CAPS. Not to promote "shouting," but to relive what the C-64 text viewing style was.

C-64 does look a bit better now.
Green is kinda nice, though. Probably the most gentle of them all.
I could replicate a color scheme using SMF as a basis, but I cannot do the images (like the gadiant colors everywhere). I try to keep it as light (bandwidth) as possible.

Well... it would take some major recoding and such to do that. Plus, I do not "own" this SMF theme, meaning, I do not know if I can replicate it outside of the forums. Also, a big chunk of this theme is the images being used (the curves and gradients). Unfortunately, due to the fact that images, even in "alternate" style sheets,  are loaded even if not used, adding to my bandwidth is not possible at this point.

I was thinking more along the line of the blue colors. Like the green theme just in the same or similar color blue as the forums.

Ok, I will see what I can come up with.

A few changes this evening:
1. I modified all 4 to add a bit of spice.
2. C-64 no longer has "much bigger" text because I got tired of the size jumping around while I was testing. Still all CAPS though.
3. Rounded corners are added for those using Firefox and webkit based browsers (only in a few locations, nothing major).
4. HTML links no longer are "bolder" then the rest of the text.

You will need to refresh one page on the main web site manually to get the latest versions of the color scheme.

I like the green, but I would suggest a similar style to the green but a more greyish blue hue.  I think it would look professional and be easy on the eyes.
