What is the icon a shortcut for? Is it for a folder or an executable? Make sure the the "store and display recent items and programs" items are checked in the taskbar properties. Have you removed the shortcut arrow from the icon? That too, can cause this problem if you didn't do it properly.Spawn
As long as those options are checked, folders, files, etc pin just fine to the task bar. However, if you remove the arrow from a desktop shortcut improperly, it will has been know to cause the item not to pin. So, after checking those things out, get back to us, DRSLETMEDOWN.Spawn
That's a pretty reputable site (I use quite often), so I don't think that would be an issue. Just to make sure though, why don't you refresh the icon cache, reboot, and then try to pin your file.Spawn
Exactly how do you do that LOL!
Sorry ! Does it matter where the folder is ? Location wise ? My documents, on the desktop etc ?
Look here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/49819-icon-cache-rebuild.htmlIt shouldn't.Spawn
Downloaded & ran it but it made no difference. I have tried everything I know to simply make a folder & put what I want in it & get it to pin to the taskbar. I can't even get it to work from the desktop. A folder just won't pin ?
You shouldn't have to do all of that. I can pin a folder by just dragging it to the taskbar. I would try to figure out why you can't instead of doing all of that. Either way, I am glad you are pleased. Spawn
