If time synch program used can Windows Time service be disabled
« on: December 11, 2009, 05:40:46 AM »
I use a clock program, Say The Time, which has a synchronization feature.  Do I disable the Windows Time service? Or do I need it Auto or Manual for the time synch feature of Say The Time to work correctly?

If the help file doesn't show Windows Time as a dependency I would bet you could safely disable it, should you
get an error start it up again using the various options, manual, still getting errors, back to automatic.

I would hazard a guess that you do not need the Windows Time service running as most add in programs or services do all of the NTP details on their own.

I apologize for the delay in getting back. I have been frolicking with two beautiful young gals who look like me, and look like my daughter too.

I turned the Windows Time service off, disabled it. I then with the program Say the Time synchronized with a time server; it popped up a box that said my clock with corrected. You are right. If it changes, I'll tell you.
