ASP.Net
« on: December 21, 2007, 04:50:53 AM »
I love your guide, I have been using it for a long time,  but now I have a service  called  ASP.Net    and it is not on your list.  I have xp pro with service pack2.   It is listed as manuel.

The reason I am asking is,  the internet people are coming to set my computer up for wireless  internet and the first ones that came could not get the c.d to load.  I forgot that I had some services disabled in the services.msc and I went in today and put them all back into default in case that was the reason it would not install.

but it seems to me that when I had your older list, that I lost, the ASP.Net was listed in it but I am not sure it may be a new service.

Could you please let me know if you have any information on this service and what the default is?

       thank you   :)

It is due to installing a version of .NET extensions and its various versions.
Normally not harmful, nor needed, but in an application that you installed also installed them, they may be required.

Was your 'wireless  internet' install that failed 'Merlin" software for a Novatel Wireless aircard?   If so, Novatel is aware of the problem BUT has never responded to multiple requests for a solution.  I found that after the failed installations that the device drivers were installed and I was able to use the card as a USB modem.  My email is akirk at aceweb.com.
