Where has readyboost gone?
« on: November 10, 2009, 06:12:15 PM »
I wanted to reformat my new USB to use as readyboost so I went into services to turn of the readyboost service but it is not there anymore.
Is it called something else in 7 or is my services list just "Monged"? :-\

Your services are not broken. "ReadyBoost" is not there anymore. It may have been bundled up with Superfetch (since they relied on each other), however, I have not had a chance to plug my USB drive in to see if the same functionality as the Vista ReadyBoost is still there.
I will give it a shot later on today.

Readyboost does work.  I am using it on my computer, although I'm not sure it really helps all that much with 8 gb of ram :)

I assume that ReadyBoot is still there. It was lumped in with ReadyBoost in Vista, but it quite dramatically boosted boot up times.
