Windows7 internet browser problems
« on: November 06, 2009, 07:18:40 am »
I just installed Win7 on my laptop.  Pretty nice so far except for one thing.  I have a cable modem, and I use a router (wire only) to connect to more than one computer.  I sometimes have 3 connected.  Works fine.
Since Win7 I am having problems connecting to my router, HOWEVER, my email works fine????  I don't get this.  I have internet connectivity for email, but not for IE or Foxfire either one.
IfI keep rebooting my modem/router I can get it to connect eventually (not a satisfactory situation).  Now if I take my cat5 directly to my modem, it works perfectly.  What is going on??

Thanks in advance for any advice/solutions you may have.

You connect wired to the router? What brand/model is it? Have you tried to run a firmware update for the router?

Fixed the problem.  I bought a new wireless router.  Now my PC connects every time.  I guess my old (and it is old) router wasn't cutting the mustard.
