VIPRE appears to be incompatible with Win 7 new release
« on: October 27, 2009, 07:48:08 PM »
I just installed Windows 7 Home Premium. Vipre can't come up. There is an error message saying that Counterspy is incompatible with this version of Windows. I had (and still have) no such problem with Windows 7 RC. Anybody else have this problem?  ???

I have been using Vipre ever since they came out with the new version.
I do not use Counterspy anymore.  I assume you have gone to sunbelt's site and see
if there is an update.
I don't believe that you need both Vipre and Counterspy at the same time.

One thing that many forget is to uninstall AV programs before upgrading to a new OS.

I am having problems with all versions of VIPRE (i.e. an older version I downloaded several days ago, the one I downloaded yesterday and the one I downloaded today).  >:(

Dave's Edit

Ok. Problem fixed. I tried another download and this time it worked! What I did different this time is that when I blew the old VIPRE away, I also blew away ALL of the files (I had been allowing the "record" files to stay -- apparently, some other files stayed too).  :)
