After I set up my services.msc according to Black Viper "safe" configuration for XP x86 sp3, my computer was running faster and smoother with faster boot times. Then, I started to get a Visual C++ Runtime Library Error which closes explorer.exe about every half an hour. On the event log it says "Source: winlogon Event ID: 1002 The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted"
This isn't a major problem, but is pretty annoying.
All of the settings are according to the "safe" setting, and I'm not sure which manual/disabled service is causing this problem since the error doesn't occur instantaneously and constantly, but once about every 30mins which is very tiresome to narrow down one by one. Here is an added list I put on as manual/disabled that was not on the Black Viper sp3 configuration page.
.NET Runtime Optimization Service v2.0.50727_X86 (manual)
ASP .NET State Service (manual)
DSBroker Service (disabled) <----Dell Support
Java Quick Starter (manual)
Net .Tcp Port Sharing Service (manual)
User Privilege Service (manual)
Windows CardSpace (manual)
Windows Driver Foundation-User-Mode-Driver Framework (manual)
Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service (disabled)
Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0 (manual)
It is much appreciated if anyone can give me an idea what service could be causing the problem. If I can somehow go around the problem and make it so that the error doesn't come up and don't make explorer.exe restart, that works for me also.
Thank you very much
