Windows Explorer Crashes
« on: October 22, 2009, 04:40:15 PM »
Just out of the clear blue, whenever I start Windows Explorer and select any folder and then select new folder, Explorer crashes. I am running Windows XP Professional SP3, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Try running regedit and go to the following key

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

now export that key (backup) and then remove any subkeys under it except for new.

Reboot.
