vista 64 bit reboot problem

hi universal fam.
1st
all of a sudden shutdown slowed and when reboot goes through bios but windows won't boot  :'(
2nd
desktoop showa operating in test mode, how so i get back to normal.
ttied to repair from boot wit os disk and no results.
could somenone share wit me the solutions.
greatly appreciated and thx to all the work put in by blackviper and all
vista 64 bit sp2 and current updates installed.

Does that mean you are booting in safe mode?
Just select "normal" mode boot process at the start.

Any clue on what caused the shutdown?  I'd want to isolate whether it's a hardware or a software problem.  If the repairs aren't working there's a good chance you're experiencing a failure in your hard drive or ram.
