Blue Writing
« on: August 31, 2009, 08:46:31 AM »
Hi

This is not a question that is limited to the Vista OS, but as I use it I will post it here.  :)

As we all know, when we look at the name of a folder of file on our systems, the colour of the label is usually black, like this writing.  However very occasionally I will see a label in blue writing (normally hidden in the depths of the hidden folders).

Why the blue labels?  What does it mean?

Thank you.  :)

It means it is NTFS compressed to save disk space. Many files and folders that are there for archive purposes or uninstall information is NTFS compressed. Such as uninstall information for a service pack.
