Process and Services

I've got 72 process running and would like to cut that down and see if that will help my computer run a little bit smoother. I'm running a dell xps210 with a 320 gb hard drive and 2gb ram. Running windows vista home premium. I did check each and every services with your list and still have a bunch of process. I am pretty sure that this is slowing down my computer a good bit. I have also done a virus scan, malware scan and spybot so everything is good with that.
