Surfing the web on Vista 64
« on: August 08, 2009, 08:31:32 AM »
I have vista 64 I generally use the 32 bit browser due to the many sites that require flash and since adobe doesn't have it for 64 bit yet well...anyway

As of late like everyday or two I will turn my pc off or finish gaming and go check some of my sites where I have been logged in, including facebook or myspace and my username and passwords are gone, like I had run spyware and it cleared my cookies. I have windows defender and symantec endpoint but I havent run those since July 27. This has happened a few times.

I checked my settings in internet options I dont have it checked to delete history upon exit, I have it set to save for 30 days. It is set for 100mb of space for temp internet files, I am out of ideas on this.

Most cookies have a timeout built into them. If they are not used again before that timeout, they are automatically deleted.

Well, I could accept that if it were not for the fact that I log into facebook everyday multiple times, and myspace. Along with about 4 gaming websites.

It isn't an issue with the cookies timing out.  I use Facebook quite a bit as well as IE8, and it remembers my username and password everytime.  Let me do some checking...

I agree. Have you installed some software or changed some settings that delete temporary files on boot or shutdown?

Did u try resetting IE?

1. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
2. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
3. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
4. When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, click Close, click OK, and then click OK again.
5. Close Internet Explorer.
