IMAPI stops running
« on: July 21, 2009, 08:34:08 AM »
I'm running XP Pro SP3 with up to the minute updates on a ThinkPad T42 at around 1800 with 1 gb memory.

 IMAPI keeps shutting down.

The burner/player shows no signs of wear.  A couple years or so ago I burned probably half a dozen CD's and had no problems.  Since then I've watched 2 or 3 DVD movies on it - again with no issues.

With two different programs I try to burn an ISO.  Everything seems to go fine, but nothing is put on the disk.  It's as if I were running in test mode.

Whether running automatic or manual (tried auto only for testing) if I either run imapi.exe or put a CD in the burner, the IMAPI process will start, run for about 5 seconds and stop.

When I did the previous burning I was probably using the old version of IMAPI.  Might the 2008 version have a problem with my T42?

 Thanks

May I suggest trying imgburn for burning ISOs. If it is freeware and very solid. http://www.imgburn.com
