Mixed feelings about current Service.msc configuration on my PC

Hi everyone, this is my first post in this forum.  =)

Instead of using the registry patch provided on the website, I wanted to know if there was an alternative way to reset all services to their default settings.  I am running Windows XP Professional w/ Service Pack 3.
