Adaptec 1430SA
« on: March 03, 2009, 04:00:28 AM »
Anyone using an Adaptec 1430SA with Windows 7?
I am looking at installing this coupled with 2 SuperTalent SSD's to alleviate my HD corruption issues, but I cannot find anything on Google that people have installed this with Windows 7.

Well, I just sprung for it and a couple SSD's, so I will see what happens here in a few days.

Hi,

How did this turn out? Looking to get a RAID controller for my windows 7 PC and was considering this one.

Official word from Adaptec is that it is still to be determined whether they will support this.

I have not used it with Windows 7 (I have to wait for general release like everyone else), but it works great with Vista, so I am assuming that W7 will be just as good.
Adaptec is pretty solid with their driver support with past and present OS's, so I am confident they will support W7 with this particular adapter.

No new drivers as of today are posted, but official release is a couple weeks off.

Still nothing... "TBD" for support as of October 15, 2009:

BV EDIT: I posted the link but it is long and nasty and the forums do not like it.

Nothing yet for this card, however, several cards do have Windows 7 drivers now posted, so I am still holding out hope... TBD as of October 30th.

Actually. I posted in the rules not to use such services that truncate URL's awhile back. :P

See "General help in getting your topic read/replied to."
Even though I edited the rules today, I did not change that particular bullet.

Still no drivers. I am starting to lose faith in Adaptec.

I am becoming impatient.
Wait... no one has ever accused me of being patient anyway. :P
This is seriously setting me back in W7 testing.

The support page was updated December 1, 2009 (after 1.5 months of silence) and my adapter is still "TBD" for W7 support... *sigh*

The page for the Win7 drivers has been updated again. This time the update includes the 1430sa card.

The support page has changed to state that drivers are planned, but no download is available as of yet.
