Toshiba and Smartcard Service

I learned quite by accident last night that the SMARTCARD service is somehow used by the wireless card in my antique Toshiba A15. With smartcard disabled, the wireless card completely falls off of device manager.  Just passing along documentation.

Interesting.
Are you using Toshiba software to connect/view wireless networks or the default Windows wireless manager?
