Vista x64 Backup Problem
« on: October 01, 2008, 01:12:51 PM »
Can't get this feature to run properly either Auto or Manual.
Problem-Following reboot, backup runs fine.
After a few days, backup stops working and gives me the following message:

"The Backup did not complete successfully.  A shadow copy could not be created for the following reason:  The shadow copy provider had an unexpected error while trying to process the specified operation. (0x8004230F)"

I have three SATA drives-"C" has O/S and other programs; "D" has all benchmark software, files videos, Pic, etc.; all backup from "C" & "D"is done to "E".

Thanks

Make sure the Volume Shadow Copy service is not disabled.  It is needed for backups.

Spawn-It's enabled and set to manual.  I have tried setting to Automatic and same problem occurs,  Should also say that for other reasons, I did a clean install of Vista in August.  Had the problem before and has continued, with same error message.
