Why was it a no go? In Add/Remove programs it should be there...it won't say trial version. If you still say it isn't there, have you went to start, all programs, and look for Office to see if there is an uninstall selection?Spawn
I'm sorry, I am not understanding. What do you mean "Updates" are showing 240MB for Office? When you say you removed Office from two places, what two places and how did you remove it?Spawn
Don't install them.
Oh it was listed in two places and I removed them.
Sometimes Windows Updates shows updates for things you don't have. Every once in awhile it will show an update for Office 2003 for me...I don't have Office 2003. As bphlpt said, just hide the update if it's bothering you. It works the same in Vista as in XP. As far as why Windows Updates shows updates for things you don't have, I cannot answer.Spawn
When you go to the Microsoft Updates web page, click custom, not express. Then when the list of available updates appears uncheck the box of the update you don't want, then click the little "+" next to the check box to show the description of the update, then click the little box at the bottom of the description that says "Don't show this update again". That's it.Cheers and Regards.
I thought of that too but see no place to hide the updates.

When the windows pops up do you see the Office Updates already? If yes, right-click on those updates and it will give you the option to hide them. If they don't show, select check for updates. Once they appear, then right-click on them and select hide.Spawn
